Maxine Bauer, MD
Dr. Bauer attended medical school in Atlanta, Georgia at Emory University. There she developed an interest in public health and was active in promoting awareness about domestic violence. She completed her residency in OB/Gyn at OHSU. There she was an active researcher in the areas of dysplasia and infertility.
Dr. Bauer has special interests in the field of infertility, low risk obstetrics, abnormal uterine bleeding, incontinence and laparoscopic surgery.
Dr. Bauer is originally from Atlanta, GA. She and her husband enjoy spending time with their two young children, especially doing the many outdoor activities that Portland offers. She also loves travel and has worked and studied in Lima, Peru. She enjoys the personal interactions she has with her patients of all ages and backgrounds.

Desiree Bley, MD
Born in Montana and raised in Southern California, Dr. Bley attended medical school at St. Louis University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium in San Antonio, Texas. She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Bley served in the military as a Major in the U.S. Army, practicing Obstetrics and Gynecology in Germany for six years. Prior to joining Women’s Health Today in 2007, she took a year off to be a full time mom to her new twins, a boy and a girl, and her older son.
Dr. Bley and her husband enjoy travel, yoga, biking and spending time with their three young children. Most of all, they love living in Portland.

Anika Denali, MD
A native Portlander, Dr Denali Luengo attended medical school at Oregon Health & Sciences University. She completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, CA. and now returns to her beloved Portland to begin her practice with Women’s Health Today. She is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr Denali Luengo has worked and volunteered extensively in family planning and migrant health clinics in the United States and abroad in Central America. She also studied the public health care system in Cuba, where she met her husband, a Cuban physician. Her interests include high risk obstetrics, cervical dysplasia, family planning, and general gynecology. She is fluent in Spanish and enjoys working with the Latino community.
Dr Denali Luengo is the mother of twins who delivered prematurely during her medical training, after a prolonged hospitalization for preterm labor. She has a deep respect and sensitivity for the challenges that a woman faces when pregnancy complications occur, and through this has become a strong patient advocate. In addition to spending time with her family and friends, she also loves trail running, hiking, salsa dancing and gourmet cooking.

Janet Gibbens, MD
Dr. Gibbens went to medical school at Oregon Health Sciences University. After completing her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Pennsylvania Hospital, she was an Attending Staff Physician at Kaiser Sunnyside Hospital. She joined Women’s Health Today in 1989.
Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Gibbens is particularly interested in dysplasia, menopause gynecology, and gynecologic urology.
She enjoys gardening and spending time with her husband and two daughters. Dr. Gibbens is known for her warmth and clinical expertise.

Nancy Grant, MD
Dr. Grant obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from California State University, Long Beach. She then went on to receive her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin, where she also completed her OB/GYN residency. After practicing obstetrics and gynecology for five years, Dr. Grant joined Women’s Health Today in August 2002. She is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
“Women today are more knowledgeable about their bodies and thus are more involved in decisions about their health care,” says Dr. Grant. “One of my most important roles is to facilitate that process.”
As an OB/GYN physician, Dr. Grant provides care for women through their reproductive years and beyond. “I enjoy participating in one of the most awesome and humbling of human events: the birth of a child,” she says.
“The road to that event is paved by a partnership between doctor and patient – one that I hope will continue for many years.” That relationship is one of the most fulfilling aspects of being a physician for Dr. Grant.
Originally from California, Dr. Grant is an avid cyclist and runner and enjoys exploring as much of Oregon as possible.

Oscar Polo, MD
After completing his medical degree and residency in Family Practice at the University of Oklahoma, Dr. Polo became board certified in Family Practice. He followed this with a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Polo joined Women’s Health Today in 1993. Since then he has been active with administration duties at Providence Portland Medical Center. He was formerly the head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology and Pediatrics Department and has been a member of the Executive Committee and The Quality Assurance Committee of the hospital.
Dr. Polo is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology with interests in high-risk obstetrics, menopausal gynecology and microinvasive pelvic surgery. Dr. Polo has particular interests in pelvic reconstructive surgery for patients with pelvic prolapse and urinary incontinence. He is a member of the American UroGynecology Society and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopic Surgeries.
Originally from Peru, Dr. Polo is fluent in Spanish and appreciates cultural diversity. Together, he and his wife, Amy, enjoy church activities, hiking, music and time together at home with their two children.

Hannah Litt, CNM
After graduating from Kenyon College in Ohio with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature, Hannah worked in Portland for several years as a wedding planner before realizing women’s healthcare was her true calling. She completed doula training, fell in love with childbirth, and enrolled at Oregon Health & Science University with the goal of becoming a Nurse Midwife. She earned both her RN and Master of Science in Nurse Midwifery at OHSU. Since then she has thoroughly enjoyed not only supporting women through pregnancy and childbirth, but also providing women’s healthcare from puberty past menopause.
When she is not at work, Hannah spends as much time as possible in her backyard “farm.” She and her husband tend to an enormous vegetable garden and an ever-enlarging flock of chickens with the “help” of their two daughters. Hannah finally put her English major to work when she co-authored a guide to chicken-keeping with her husband.

Liana Corliss, FNP
Liana graduated from Reed College with a B.A. in Biology with Honors in 1989. After college, she traveled as a World Health Organization Consultant working on Polio Eradication in Brazil, Egypt and Morocco. In 1995, Liana entered the Master’s of Nursing/RN Program at Yale School of Nursing, where she became a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner.
As a Nurse Practitioner, Liana’s first five years were dedicated to working with under served populations. She created and ran a primary health care clinic in a Native American Residential Drug and Alcohol Program. She then went into private practice in family medicine for six years, with a focus on disease prevention and women’s health issues. “I love caring for women, especially through major life transitions such as adolescence, motherhood and menopause” states Liana.
Liana is an avid gardener who loves spending time with her husband and young son. Traveling abroad is one of their favorite things to do together as a family.
